US — The global, non-profit female networking organisation Women in Research (WIRe) has announced a new campaign – the 50/50 initiative – to boost the number of women speakers representing the industry.
The initiative was developed to provide greater visibility and thought leadership opportunities for women working in marketing intelligence, by matching them with speaking opportunities at the industry’s best events.
Kristin Luck (pictured), founder of Women in Research, said: “While we have many different activities that happen under the umbrella of WIRe, including networking, mentoring and educational programming, we really have one overarching goal: helping women take a greater leadership position within the market research industry. Giving women a stronger voice at conferences and events will help achieve this goal.”
She said WIRe would be working closely with conference organisers to promote a 50/50 gender split on stage. An online registration form hosted on www.womeninresearch.com will be used to build a directory of women working in the market research industry that are interested in speaking at conferences, appearing on discussion panels or webinars, contributing to articles and other thought leadership opportunities.
