CANADA — Vision Critical has announced that former OMERS Ventures managing director Derek Smyth (pictured) has joined the firm as chief revenue officer.
OMERS Ventures has previously invested in Vision Critical. This news comes alongside the announcement that Difference Capital has made a $3.5m preferred share investment in the company.
Scott Miller, group CEO of Vision Critical, said: “Derek is a major player in the investment community and has a keen eye for selecting and grooming Canada’s rising stars. His track record is impeccable, and his customer-centric approach aligns well with our core philosophies.
“We are fortunate to have his expertise and leadership to drive our growth and capabilities to the next level.”
In the past year, Vision Critical has made several other senior appointments, including a new CTO, CFO and MD of Public Affairs.
