AUSTRALIA – Culture, communities and digital insight agency Verve has appointed Jason Buchanan to set up collaborative research business unit Verve Collaborations.

Verve Collaborations aims to improve the research process for participants, and engage communities, collaborations and collectives of people for the insight industry.

The company is launching The Ignite Collective as part of Verve Collaborations. The Ignite Collective will focus on futurology and aims to be a global community of creatives and cultural creators.

Buchanan (pictured) will work with recent joiner Cherry Huang to build The Ignite Collective globally and support the development of Verve Collaborations.

Before joining Verve, Buchanan was founder of Research Now’s Australian and Asia-Pacific businesses.

Speaking about Verve Collaborations, Buchanan said: “The continued focus on speed and price of the ‘sample’ marketplaces has led to respondents being treated like mechanical inputs into a machine – rather than like human beings.

“It is not sustainable, and it does not deliver quality insight. At Verve Collaborations we are doing the opposite.”
