US consumers have data insecurity

US — New research from Radius has revealed that US consumers have little trust in any industry to keep their personal data safe.

The survey asked US technology owners which industry was “doing the best at keeping their information safe”, and the highest ranking answer was “no industry”, with 29% of respondents choosing that option.

Financial websites were the most trusted, with 25% agreeing that they did the “best job” at securing their personal information.

“Ongoing security breaches have pushed the issue of online security to the top of consumers’ minds,” said Radius GMR Director, Jamie Myers.

“We set out to determine which industries were the most trusted among consumers when it comes to keeping data secure. In the end, those surveyed felt that no company in any industry is doing it well.”
