UK – Former chief operating officer of Edelman Intelligence James ‘JT’ Turner has launched research and insights agency, delineate, with offices in London and Manchester.
Described as offering ‘a disruptive framework to rid the industry of campaigns based on poor methodologies and anecdotal audience data’ it will offer communications agencies a proprietary approach to help them develop and test research-informed campaigns.
Delineate is a sister agency to start-up polling business, opinion.life, which Turner co-founded earlier this year.
Turner said:"Brands, communicators and marketers want decent, honest and usable insights. This means agencies need to produce well researched, innovative campaigns that are based on human truths as opposed to untested hunches and third-party data.
"Time-poor clients want to hear from people who understand their problems – and have viable solutions. Most research is still overly complicated, slow, and costly. That’s where delineate comes in."
At Edelman, Turner built the London team of Edelman Intelligence, leading the research for its Trust Barometer. Prior to Edelman, Turner held senior management positions at ICM, FreshMinds, BT and IRI. More recently he worked at predictive data analytics firm Black Swan as chief insight officer.
At delineate he has a team of six consultants working with him including Darren Cooper, Helen Bennie, Tony Laverty and Simon and Jonny Arrowsmith.
