Kasolowsky has been head of insight at Marks & Spencer since February 2017, responsible for food, clothing and home market and customer insight, covering research, data analytics and data science.

Prior to that, she spent three years at Tesco-owned customer insight firm dunnhumby as global capability managing director for customer strategy. She has also held management level roles at Accenture and Satmetrix.

McKenzie joined Tesco in early 2016 as insight director and became group foresight and insight director in August 2017. She was responsible for consolidating insights within the company, bringing it together under one function.

The appointment comes amid reports that Tesco is planning to launch a new discount chain to compete with the likes of Aldi and Lidl.
