Techneos adds barcode scanner and video to Android app

CANADA— Mobile survey software firm Techneos has upgraded its Survey On Demand Application (SODA) to allow Android smartphone and tablet users to scan barcodes and use video in market research projects.

The SODA 2.0 tool is compatible with virtually all Android devices, Techneos says. It also incorporates GPS tracking and photo sharing capabilities.

CEO Dave King (pictured) said: “Market research professionals are becoming increasingly savvy to the role that mobile devices play in their respondents’ lives. Delivered effectively, mobile devices are an appealing way to capture qualitative and quantitative research data at the point of experience, rather than to use another means that relies on a person’s memory.”
