Screen Engine/ASI buys Coherency
Founded in 2014, Coherency offers qualitative and quantitative tools, with a particular focus on emotion-based research, including a methodology to quantify consumers’ emotional connection with brands.
The company’s co-founders Jeff Meleski, Steve Markov, and Lee Lodes will continue to lead Coherency as a division of Screen Engine/ASI.
Both businesses are headquartered in Los Angeles. Screen Engine/ASI works with clients in the entertainment, media and technology sectors and specialises in content testing including movie test screenings, creative advertising testing and television programme and gaming assessment.
The financial terms of the deal are not being disclosed, but the acquisition is now complete. Coherency will remain as a brand within Screen Engine/ASI.
Coherency is the fourth acquisition by Screen Engine/ASI to grow its services and expand its global offer. The company acquired London-based research agency Tapestry in late 2021.
Kevin Goetz, founder and chief executive, Screen Engine/ASI (pictured), said: “What Jeff, Steve, Lee and their talented team have built is transformative.”
Steve Markov, co-founder of Coherency, said: “We have known the team at Screen Engine/ASI for several years and have worked together for mutual clients. We believe we have found a partner who provides a cultural and operational fit with a central focus on the client.”
