Research Now SSI reopens Davao call centre

US – Digital market research and data services company Research Now SSI has resumed its call centre operations in Davao, Philippines.

Following the NCCC Mall fire in December, which claimed the lives of 37 of the company’s employees, it had suspended operations.

Research Now SSI has leased the space for its new facility and has received an Occupancy Permit from the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) and the Office of Building Officials (OBO).

The new location will initially accommodate about 300 telephone interviewers in addition to administrative staff.

The company said it wanted to reinstate and retrain its former and that all Research Now SSI employees who were active at the time of the fire will be offered jobs. It will also prioritise new jobs to qualified family members of those who died in the fire.

Gary Laben, CEO of Research Now SSI, said: "We are very happy that many of our previous employees will be working with us again. We are committed to them and to the city, and look forward to more productive years in Davao."
