There are eight categories in the Research Live Awards, spanning agency and client-side achievements and individual success.

In a change for 2018, the Best New Agency category has been replaced with Breakthrough Business of the Year. The category expands on the previous definition to acknowledge both new agencies and those that have undergone transformation or turned around an existing business or department.

Chaired by editor Jane Bainbridge, the Research Live awards judging panel will decide on the winners, based on the entries submitted for: Breakthrough Business of the Year; Best Agency above £20m; Best Agency under £20m; Best in-house team; Best place to work; Business Impact of the Year and Young Researcher of the Year.

Entries to the category of Best Innovation will be judged at a separate Dragon’s Den-style panel, in which nominees will present their work to the innovation judges.

All winners will be announced at the annual MRS Awards ceremony, held in London in December.

The full criteria for all Research Live and MRS Awards categories can be found on the MRS website here. Entries must be submitted by 10am on 2 July.
