US— National Geographic Networks has contracted Rentrak to provide video on-demand measurement services for its newest channel, Nat Geo Wild.
Rentrak already provides the same service for the company’s flagship National Geographic Channel. The Wild channel was launched at the end of March.
Meanwhile, the measurement firm has also struck a deal with Florida-based CBS-affiliate WINK-TV for its local TV StationView Essentials service.
The tool provides broadcasters with information about viewer involvement and viewing habits in local markets using set-top box data.
Finally, Rentrak has announced the appointment of David Paiko as vice president of business development for its home entertainment essentials division, where he will be responsible for managing new and existing relationships with studio, agency and video game partners.
During his career Paiko has had spells working at ACNielsen and home entertainment research consultancy VideoScan.
Christopher Roberts, Rentrak’s senior vice president of Home Entertainment Media & Digital, said: “David’s diverse roots in home entertainment provide the exact experience needed to lead the development of this growth area.”
