US— News broadcaster Gannett has signed up for local TV audience ratings from both Nielsen and Rentrak.
The deal with Nielsen is a renewal of a long-standing arrangement, but the Rentrak agreement is new and encompasses the latter’s StationView Essentials service, which provides viewing information based on data collated via set-top boxes.
Both deals encompass the 19 markets where Gannett operates 23 TV stations. As part of its agreement with Nielsen, Gannett will also be provided with data on how people use its TV station websites.
