Police investigate ‘suspicious’ disappearance of MR director

US— Police in Virginia say that they are treating the disappearance of Altria Group’s director of marketing and consumer research Leyla Namiranian as suspicious, after she vanished on 4 April.

Police believe she left work the previous evening and went home, which is where her car was found. However, she did not show up for work the following day.

Her home showed no evidence of forced entry or a struggle, police said. Her cellphone and purse where missing, but as of last Friday there had been no activity on her credit cards or bank accounts.

Namiranian has worked for Altria since 2008, prior to which she was a consumer research manager for Philip Morris and a senior vice president at Decision Analyst.

Altria said in a statement: “We are concerned about our colleague and are assisting police by providing information that could help with their search.”

What a terrible thing that Leyla is missing! I very much hope that Leyla will be found in a good condition! We have met in Amsterdam last September, sitting at the same table at the Esomar Congress Dinner. She is such a lovely person. Will think about her and send some positive energy to her, wherever she is. Something, we all could do, I guess.

As a friend and fellow market research peer of Leyla's, I am sick to my stomach about this. Leyla was a vendor of my 13 yrs. ago when she was a VP at Decision Analyst. We have kept in touch over years-- met for lunch whenever business brought her to NYC. One of the kindest most thoughtful individuals I know. She will be in my prayers. Praying for her safe return home.

Longtime ago we exchanged some emails. I never met her, but I always felt to talk to a smart and golden hearted girl. I hope that Leyla is alright and that her relatives will soon have the pleasure of seeing her.
