Peter Mouncey awarded MRS gold medal

News People UK

UK  – Peter Mouncey has been given the MRS Gold Medal as he retires from the role of editor-in-chief at the International Journal of Market Research (IJMR) after 15 years.

Only 12 people have ever received this prestigious award since 1982 and it was awarded to Mouncey in recognition of the 45 years he has spent supporting institutions that protect and promote the market and social research sector.

In addition to his IJMR role he has been a member of the MRS market research standards board for 26 years and a member of the MRS main board for five, holding the positions of Hon secretary treasurer and chair during that time.

His career has included time spent as chair of the Research Development Foundation (RDF), chair of Aura and as a visiting fellow at Cranfield University’s School of Management.

Jane Frost CEO of MRS, said: “We are immensely grateful to Peter for his commitment to IJMR and the fantastic progress he has overseen throughout his tenure. As we look ahead – and in these increasingly factious times – the role IJMR plays in connecting practitioners with the best thinking from around the world and driving international collaboration will be more important than ever.”

Dr Daniel Nunan, reader in marketing & head of the marketing group at the University of Portsmouth, will assume the role of IJMR editor while Professor Yuksel Ekinci, professor of marketing at the same university, will become associate editor.
