US— The NPD Group has finalised its acquisition of mobile and digital entertainment industry analyst In-Stat. The deal was announced in January.
Going forward, In-Stat will operate in conjunction with DisplaySearch, another of NPD’s analyst business which focuses on the flat panel display and electronics markets. NPD also owns Solarbuzz and Connected Intelligence.
In-Stat’s Mark Kirstein (pictured) remains president, reporting in to Tim Bush, general manager of NPD’s Technology Analyst Business.
NPD previously backed Kirstein and In-Stat’s management when they bought the business from Reed Elsevier in April last year.
