Nielsen Sport changes top UK roles

UK – Sport industry’s data and insights agency, Nielsen Sport, has appointed Jon Long to the role of managing director UK and Ireland.

Long (pictured) was previously in charge of Nielsen Sport in the Middle East and will move to London to take up his new role in January 2018. Before joining Nielsen Sport (then Repucom) he worked at the International Cricket Council (ICC) for more than 10 years.

In addition to the appointment of Long, Richard Brinkman has been hired as commercial director for the UK and Ireland. He was previously managing director of SMG Insight and has also been global head of KantarSport at WPP.

Long is replacing Jon Stainer who is moving to the UK to become managing director, Americas, overseeing the US, Canada and Mexico.
