US – George Callard has been named as Nielsen’s new chief legal officer, taking over from Eric Dale, who has resigned.
Callard (pictured) has 25 years’ experience covering administrative and legal responsibilities. He joins from The Weather Channel television network, where he was president and responsible for a variety of legal and government relations functions including mergers and acquisitions, regulatory and compliance issues, litigation and risk management.
His legal experience also includes stints at AT&T and NBCUniversal.
Callard follows chief executive officer, David Kenny, to Nielsen. Kenny was chairman and chief executive of The Weather Company, moving to IBM after it acquired The Weather Company’s product and technology business.
Kenny said: "George’s experience, keen legal mind and thoughtful approach make him a terrific addition to our company at this time."
