UK— Social media monitoring firm Brandwatch has secured £3.6m in a round of fundraising led by investment house Nauta Capital, with a contribution from existing shareholder Gorkana Group.
Nauta Capital general partner Carles Ferrer (pictured) will join the Brandwatch board while venture partner Al Sisto will act as an observer.
Brandwatch said that the cash will be used to fasttrack the development of new products, expand internationally beyond its existing offices in the UK, Germany and the US and bolster its sales and marketing teams.
The firm was formed in 2007 by Giles Palmer and lists Ipsos, Mediacom and HSBC among its list of clients.
Ferrer said: “We have followed the space and company very closely for a long period and believe it has true potential to lead the segment internationally. Giles and his team have done a superb job building the strongest product and positioning the company as a leader in several markets.”
