MRA chief executive Larry Brownell resigns

US— The Marketing Research Association is preparing a search for a new CEO to replace Larry Brownell, who has resigned from the position.

Brownell (pictured) will leave the association on 31 January. The MRA has formed a search committee to seek out his replacement.

Colleen Moore-Mezler and Steve Schlesinger, previously MRA board president and secretary, will head the search committee with new members to be announced in the near future.

According to a statment, Brownell – who joined the MRA in 2003 – decided to step down in order to return to his Los Angeles home and pursue other career opportunities, but will stay with the association during the transition period as an adviser.

MRA president Kim Larsen said: “Larry has been a visionary and energetic leader for our association over the past six-and-a-half years and his efforts and contributions are reflected in the significant growth that MRA has enjoyed throughout his tenure.”
