CHINA— Online research agency MetrixLab has opened a new office in Shanghai on the back of demand from customers who want access to consultants with local knowledge of the country.
The firm already has 115 members of staff operating across Asia and the new office will focus on Chinese and regional clients. Edwin Song, who has previously held management roles with Ipsos, Synovate, ACNielsen and Oracle Added Value, will head up the Shanghai office.
Han de Groot (pictured) global CEO at MetrixLab said: “MetrixLab has been serving the greater China region for more than four years, and it’s clear to us that the demand for higher quality, faster and more engaging research from media, CPG, technology and financial services customers is growing.”
Thijs Elias, the firm’s global commercial director, added: “Our global clients advised us that a local office in China was increasingly necessary. We are very happy to have Edwin Song join MetrixLab as the leader for our China team as he brings key local knowledge as well as great research expertise. We already see great interest in our ‘new generation’ research approach in this market.”
