May the fourth CEO be with you, WebTrends
US— Alex Yoder has been promoted to president and CEO of web analytics firm WebTrends following the resignation of Dan Stickel.
He becomes the fourth chief executive the company has had in less than a year.
Yoder first joined the firm in 2000 before leaving for a brief spell with behavioural targeting firm Touch Clarity last year. He rejoined WebTrends at the beginning of 2008.
The CEO merry-go-round began last November when Greg Drew stepped down and was replaced by interim CEO Bruce Coleman. Daniel Stickel was next to take up the role when he replaced Coleman in April, but he quit to spend more time with his family as he was commuting from his home in San Jose, California, to WebTrends’ headquarters in Portland, Oregon – a round trip of more than 1,000 miles.
Neil Garfinkel, board member at Francisco Partners, which owns WebTrends, said: “Alex has a proven track record and has demonstrated clear leadership at the company over the years, helping to form our strategic vision and drive customer success.”
Yoder was previously vice president of sales and has taken a seat on the board as a result of the promotion. He is credited with helping the company record its most successful ever financial quarter for the three months ending 30 June.
