Madano to scrutinise service design industry for Design Council
The research project will encompass activity for The Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) and the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) alongside the Design Council. Its objective is to investigate the field of service design and opportunities there for industry professionals and academics.
It follows the appointment of Ruth Flood (pictured), formerly head of research and evidence at the Design Council, who joined Madano in January to lead its research and market intelligence offering.
She said: “Elements that our research project for AHRC, the Design Council and the ESRC will look to identify will include whether there is a working definition for the practice, the level of demand for service design expertise in the wider private and public sector and what is happening internationally.”
The five-month project will include a literature review, expert telephone interviews and an online stakeholder consultation.
