Macromill has appointed Toru Sasaki, currently representative executive officer for its Japan operation, as the new global chief executive officer, taking up the role following Ernst’s departure after the firm’s annual shareholders meeting.

Ernst (pictured) was appointed global chief executive of the Tokyo-headquartered group in 2015 and later led the company to an initial public offering (IPO). He will remain as an advisor to the business.

Sasaki joined the firm in 2003 and became executive officer, head of Japan operation in 2015, and representative executive officer in 2018.

Larry Weber, board member, and chairman and chief executive of communications agency Racepoint Global, said: “Scott has done a tremendous job as global chief executive over the past five years and I’m very thankful for his leadership and dedication. The board of directors will work closely with Scott and Sasaki-san to develop a strong and smooth transition plan for the company’s next phase of growth.”

Macromill Group’s companies include MetrixLab and Precision Sample.
