Lucid appoints chief privacy officer

US – Research technology company Lucid has hired Pauline Wen as its general counsel, chief privacy officer and corporate secretary.

Wen will lead Lucid’s legal work, including on areas such as privacy, cybersecurity, transactions, compliance and risk management.

Prior to Lucid, Wen worked as a consultant on data privacy and cybersecurity and was senior vice-president and chief privacy officer at 21st Century Fox between 2017 and 2019.

Until 2017 Wen also served as senior vice-president, chief privacy counsel for Viacom Media Networks, where she was responsible for data privacy for the company and its brands, such as the television channels MTV and Comedy Central.

Patrick Comer, chief executive of Lucid, said: “Pauline is a talented business leader who will help Lucid maintain its stellar record of compliance. Her experience will be a great asset to our executive team.”
