UK – The Market Research Benevolent Association (MRBA) has launched special skills lockdown bursaries for researchers looking to take the MRS Advance Certificate in Market and Social Research.

The MRBA is partnering with course providers Research Academy, the Market Research Study Centre and London Marketing Set, who have introduced an early start to the course to give candidates additional time to study for the qualification.

The deadline for bursary applications is 31st May and the course begins on 13th June for the January 2021 assessment period.

Mia Lorenz, managing director (business), Research Academy, said: “In a climate where there’s little scope for employers to invest in staff training, MRBA Skills bursaries allow researchers who've been furloughed from smaller businesses or made redundant, to invest their time in gaining a professional qualification. To this end, the Research Academy has opened a special edition of its online MRS Advanced Certificate course, allowing bursary winners to begin their studies right away.”

Virginia Monk, managing director at Motif and MRBA Skills committee member, said: “These special bursaries will provide financial support, so applicants can hone their skills for a future career in research. We are looking forward to receiving applications for our special skills lockdown bursaries during the month of May.”

The criteria for the special skills lockdown bursaries are the same as for the other MRBA Skills bursaries. Visit the MRBA website for more information.
