Liquidation for entertainment specialist Brand Driver

UK— London-based media, leisure and entertainment research specialist Brand Driver has called a meeting of creditors for tomorrow to place the company into creditors’ voluntary liquidation.

The agency, founded by Tim Julian, the former head of research for the Walt Disney Company, has been trading for 11 years. In his company bio, Julian describes Brand Driver as “his answer to the market’s need for a more commercially focused, entertainment specialist, research agency”.

Julian could not be reached for comment at the time of publication. His Linkedin profile lists his current occupation as founder of Forever Strategy, whose website – foreverstrategy.com – describes the company as being part of the Brand Driver group. Calls to the Brand Driver office went unanswered.

As reported yesterday, Karen Wise, managing director of Brand Driver, is joining Netfluential on 1 October as director of research. Other senior members of the Brand Driver team include Martyn U’ren and Suzanne King, who joined the company last year. It is not clear how many staff in total Brand Driver employs, though 13 are listed on Linkedin.

Clients the agency has worked with include the BBC, Dreamworks, ESPN, McDonald’s, MTV and Unilever. Last year, Research profiled work the company did for Channel 4 to support the hit TV series Big Fat Gypsy Weddings.

Notice of tomorrow’s meeting of creditors, at which liquidators will be appointed, was placed in the London Gazette last week.
