UK – Jicwebs has announced a certification scheme for companies offering anti-fraud products.
The independent body for online ad trading standards said the independent audit from ABC will verify how the companies reduce risk of fraudulent ads being served.
The certificate will be issued to those that can demonstrate how their products deal with 16 different sources of fraud, as listed in its taxonomy of online fraud.
The certification scheme for anti-fraud products complements one already in place for companies within the ad supply chain, such as ad tech providers, trading desks, ad networks and media owners.
Jicwebs’ chairman Richard Foan (pictured) admitted it took longer to establish the certification scheme than planned because some companies were concerned about sharing confidential and competitive information around how their products worked.
