Instagram launches Stories ads
Stories is similar to Snapchat, allowing Instagram users to post photos and videos that disappear after 24 hours. Launched in August 2016, it now has 150 million users.
According to reports, Instagram is to start testing ads in Stories for more than 30 companies globally, including L'Oreal, Buzzfeed, Nike and Coca Cola. The un-clickable five-second photo and 15-second video ads will appear between different people’s stories, and can be skipped. Facebook-owned Instagram will also provide business accounts with analytics on the reach, impressions, replies and ‘exits’ of their Stories.
The new ads will eventually roll out globally on all interfaces.
