In-flight magazine publisher Ink names Miller as insight head

UK— Kevin Miller, former head of research at JCDecaux Airport Advertising UK, is to join travel media company Ink in the newly created position of global head of insight.

Ink publishes in-flight magazines for airlines including United Airlines Hemispheres, easyJet, Thomas Cook, Jetstar Airways and Gulf Air.

A spokesman said: “The reason we created this role is that we want to do various types of research globally. We have a large number of airline and advertising clients in Europe, the US and Asia. What we really want to do is show our clients the advertising effectiveness of our titles. We want to measure what the ad recall rates are with our readers and how they are responding.”

Miller’s role will also aid the company as it expands into new ways of using print and digital media to reach consumers.

The spokesman said: “Ink offers targeted advertising on boarding passes and confirmation emails that travellers print at home. These include brand promotions tailored to specific airports. This way, airport retail stores can really target individual travellers based on their airport of departure.”

Miller spent seven years at JCDecaux and before that he worked for BBC Magazines & BBC Worldwide, The Scotsman Newspapers and the Inland Revenue Statistics & Economics Department.
