UK – The Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB UK) has appointed Tina Lakhani as its first head of ad tech.
Lakhani (pictured), who was previously the IAB UK’s ad tech manager and has been at the organisation since 2018, takes up the newly-created role immediately. Prior to joining IAB UK, she worked at companies including Exponential and Affectv.
As head of ad tech, Lakhani will formulate and communicate the industry body’s position on key ad tech issues.
She will also help coordinate a cross-industry approach to the end of third-party cookies and work with the digital advertising industry to respond to the Information Commissioner’s Office’s Update report into ad tech and real time bidding.
Tim Elkington, chief digital officer at IAB UK, said: “With the end of third-party cookies in sight and our ongoing work to address the ICO’s report well underway, it’s crucial that the right expertise is brought to the table.
“Tina is perfectly placed to deliver this and ensure that our ad tech members are getting the support they need. Her prior experience of managing the Gold Standard will also be instrumental as we evolve the initiative and continue to champion industry best practice.”
