ASIA PACIFIC – Advertising group Havas has acquired Malaysia-based digital agency Immerse.
The agency has been rebranded as Havas Immerse and will become integrated within the Group’s creative operations, Havas Village.
Founded in 2004, Immerse specialises in strategic creative consultancy and digital marketing. Clients in Malaysia and Singapore include Volvo, Mitsubishi, Wrigley and Unilever brands including Dove and Magnum.
Following the acquisition, the agency’s founders Jeffery Tang and Kerry Khoo will work alongside Havas Malaysia managing director Andrew Lee to lead Havas Immerse. They will report to Vishnu Mohan, chairman and chief executive of Havas Group Southeast Asia. Khoo will also take on the role of chief creative officer for Havas Immerse.
The move bolsters the group’s operation in Malaysia, which Yannick Bolloré, chairman and chief executive of Havas Group, described as an “ extremely significant” market for the company.
Bolloré said: "This acquisition signifies our commitment in this region of Southeast Asia that has witnessed a great momentum in the last few years."
