David Isaac Mathews has been appointed chief growth officer for the Southeast Asian region and, in his place, Shaad Hamid has been named general manager of the Singapore agency. Prior to joining GrowthOps, David was at EY-Parthenon’s TAS Digital as ASEAN innovation co-lead, delivering digital transformation and strategy projects across a range of industries, covering business design and monetisation for clients.
Hamid was previously at DigitasLBi in Dubai, UAE in order to set up the SEO team and department across the MENA region; he was initially hired as a senior account manager and then became SEO director, working on clients such as Jumeirah Hotels, Rezidor Hotel Group, Etihad, Johnson & Johnson and Bupa International.
GrowthOps has also hired Chris Greenough as general manager for Malaysia. In 2015, he co-founded Hyperlab, an enterprise conversational AI startup that was acquired by global customer experience firm Everise; there, he was promoted to chief marketing officer. In total, Hamid and Greenough will be overseeing a diverse team of some 200 professionals.
“Businesses today are rapidly evolving through digital transformation, but sustaining growth is difficult because the traditional ways of reaching a customer are no longer as impactful,” said GrowthOps Asia chief executive Chee Hung Goon. “We are growing because our partners are gaining confidence from our ability to identify where their customers are and how best to reach and retain them on digital platforms.”
Other recent senior hires across the regional team include Su-Ann Teh as digital transformation director; Edith Chin Siew Li as head of finance; Amelia Peng, client service director; and Arshpreet Kaur as corporate legal advisor. Additionally, Lik Pin Ong has been promoted as head of platform delivery; and James Ng has been promoted to head of CRM.
