GoPollGo shuts down service after Yahoo purchase

M&A North America

Real-time polling tool GoPollGo is shutting down its services after being bought by search engine company Yahoo.

Along along with website services, GoPollGo has also shut down its embeddable widgets and mobile app.

Although the team will be joining Yahoo’s mobile team in Sunnydale, it hasn’t been announced how its technology will be integrated into Yahoo.

On its site, GoPollGo founders Ben Schaechter, Sam Grossberg and Paul Kompfner, wrote: “We’re so excited to bring the knowledge and experience we’ve gained at GoPollGo to Yahoo. We share an enthusiasm for building delightful user experiences, and we couldn’t be happier to join forces.”

The purchase comes at the same time that Yahoo acquired frequent flier search startup MileWise, whose team will move to New York to join the recently acquired Stamped team on Yahoo’s mobile squad.
