Google aims to clean web with Spider.io
According to the press release, Google will include Spider.io’s fraud detection technology – which combats the false clicks generated by software ‘bots’ to give misleading advertising reach scores – in its video and display ad products.
The aim is to “improve the metrics that advertisers and publishers use to determine the value of digital media and give all parties a clearer, cleaner picture of what campaigns and media are truly delivering strong results.”
The terms of the deal have not been disclosed. Spider.io’s team of seven employees will join Google.
