Ex-IBM innovation chief joins Element AI

CANADA – Artificial intelligence company, Element AI, has hired Linda Bernardi as chief product and strategy officer.

Bernardi was previously IBM’s chief innovation officer of Internet of Things (IoT) and Cloud.

At Element AI she will lead product strategy, research and development and create and deploy products and services to increase the uptake of AI by corporations globally.

At IBM, Bernardi worked on IoT and big data analytics by integrating AI and cognitive capabilities, as well as developing innovative products for Fortune 100 companies around the world.

Element AI CEO, Jean-François Gagné, said: “Element AI was founded to transform current businesses with AI applications to help them remain competitive into the next century– this requires a paradigm shift and Linda is acutely qualified to accelerate this shift for enterprises.”

Element AI was founded in October 2016 by entrepreneurs Jean-François Gagné, Nicolas Chapados and Yoshua Bengio. It’s headquarters are in Montreal, Quebec and raised $102m in Series A funding in 2017.
