US— Marketing services group Draftfcb has closed its Worldwide Marketing Research Services group, transferring its work to parent company Interpublic Group’s Center for Marketing Intelligence.
Draftfcb, which specialises in advertising, branding, strategic planning and CRM services, has offered MR services since its creation in 2006 from the merger of Draft and Foote, Cone and Belding.
The MR services group consisted of a team of researchers in Chicago and one person in New York. A spokesman told Research it no longer “made sense” for the company to continue its research work when the same services were available through Interpublic.
Staff have been transferred to other parts of the company, but Sid Liebenson (pictured), who led the unit, is leaving the company at the end of the year.
