Datamonitor integrates technology subsidiaries

UK— Business information group Datamonitor is to merge its three technology businesses – Butler Group, Datamonitor Technology and Ovum – under the Ovum brand in September.

David Mitchell, senior vice president of IT research at Ovum, said the move was made to combine business and technology expertise “to produce research that really tackles the problem of the business value of IT”.

To coincide with the integration, Ovum is launching two new research services that will combine its existing capabilities with those of Datamonitor Technology and Butler Group: the Enterprise IT Knowledge Centre and the Technologies and Industries Knowledge Centre.

Mark Meek (pictured), CEO of the Datamonitor Group, said: “The two new Knowledge Centres will be at the centre of a new generation of Ovum research. It will be more influential than ever and offer unparalleled insight into the business value of technology. When combined with the Ovum Telecoms and the Orbys Black Book of Sourcing Knowledge Centres, the ICT industry capabilities of the Datamonitor Group are tremendous.”
