UK— Market intelligence firm Datamonitor delivered “another six months of top-line growth”, according to parent company Informa’s half-year results.
Informa said that around 80% of clients had renewed their contracts for Datamonitor’s business information reports and operating margins had increased. Further details were not available.
Datamonitor is part of the professional and commercial division at Informa, which reported a “strong” six months, with adjusted operating profits up 23% to £53.8m – a rise of 13% on an organic basis. Revenue for the division was up 5% ( 1% organically) to £185.6m.
Group-wide, Informa reported a 21% drop in operating profits to £61.1m while profit before tax fell 46% to £32.2m. Revenue crept up 1% to £636.3m.
Chairman Derek Mapp said: “Trading conditions for the rest of the year will remain difficult and the economic outlook for 2010 is uncertain but we believe that our portfolio of market leading products and brands across many geographies leaves us well placed for the eventual recovery.
