UK— The Central Office of Information (COI), the government’s marketing communications arm, has appointed 108 firms to its market research agency roster, half of whom are new additions.
Around 260 agencies applied to join and the COI said it assessed almost 900 case studies. The full list of agencies to make it on to the roster can be found here. It is split into five specialisms – qual, quant, desk research, omnibus surveys and deliberative engagement and research.
COI kicked off a review of the supplier list last year. At the time, research director Fiona Wood said the department was looking to appoint at least 80 agencies.
Speaking yesterday Wood said: “The new framework includes a broad range of agencies that offer a wide range of expertise, reflecting the breadth and depth of work we undertake on behalf of government and the public sector. We’re now looking forward to working with these agencies to provide high-quality and cost-effective research solutions for our clients.”
The roster, which was last reviewed in 2004, carries out research projects worth £22m a year.
