The lab, with locations in New York and Berlin, has been set up to build, test and launch new technologies for the communications industry.

Led by David Barker, the company’s president of data and innovations, the centre will focus on product development, strategic acquisitions, and partnerships with organisations including MediaMath and LiveRamp.

The lab’s four main areas of testing and development will be: quant, giving access to data, metrics and measurement; graph, which will allow influencers, content and audiences to be visualised; artificial intelligence for efficiency and scale; and media, to integrate with the martech environment.

Kevin Akeroyd, chief executive at Cision, said: “The Lab will provide the ongoing development and innovation needed to set new standards of measurement and integration to continue validating the importance of earned media.”
