IRELAND— Cisco has acquired location analytics software provider ThinkSmart technologies. The firm will become part of Cisco’s Wireless Networking Group and be integrated into the Cisco Mobility Services Engine.
ThinkSmart uses wi-fi technology to collect information on movement within public venues such as shops, malls, hotels and airports, including time of day, traffic patterns and dwell times.
Once analysed, Cisco’s Hilton Romanski (pictured) says clients can use the data to address customer experience issues by correctly setting staff levels, reducing wait times and improving customer flows.
ThinkSmart was initially formed at the Incubation Centre of University College Cork.
