Chime’s Insight and Engagement arm performing ahead of expectations

Financials UK

UK— Chime Communication’s Insight and Engagement division (CIE) has been performing “ahead of expectations” for the period starting July 1, the company said in an interim management statement today.

The statement, which covers the period of July 1 up until today, said the group was seeing growth across the company and has appointed Mervyn Davies (pictured) as chairman. He will start on December 6, replacing Rodger Hughes, who had been in the role on an acting basis and will continue to serve as senior independent director.

CIE, which houses Facts International, Opinion Leader, Tree, Naked Eye, Open Plan and Watermelon, reported an 18% rise in operating income earlier this year when Chime reported its figures for the first half of the financial year as the figure rose from £3.9m to £4.6m.

At the time, Chime said that “all areas of the Insight and Engagement division are now profitable and it is showing strong growth with good future prospects”.

Hughes said: “Lord Davies has an outstanding reputation as a leading businessman and a clear passion for people based businesses.  He also has a wealth of international experience which will help Chime as it develops its business in the UK and overseas.”
