UK— Chime Communications said today that its research division is on course to be more profitable in the second half of the year than it was in the first as the recovery of the business continues.
In a trading update, the marketing services group said that despite the anticipated improvement “the real benefits of our investment [in the division] are expected to flourish in 2011 and beyond”.
Division CEO Crispin Beale (pictured) has been staffing up the group’s research businesses in recent months, recruiting from both rival agencies and end-client companies.
For the first half the division – which includes the firms Opinion Leader, Facts International and Tree – reported adjusted operating profit up 10.9% to £379,000 on operating income of £3.5m, up from £3m a year earlier.
