Agencies wanted to keep bureau abreast of survey developments
US— Census Bureau chiefs are to start recruiting agencies to help them keep on top of the latest developments in the field of survey research, ahead of the national counts in 2010 and 2020.
Requests for proposals for the research and development contracts, which will run for five years, are expected to be issued later this month.
In a note to potential suppliers, contracting officer Valeria Baker explained that the contracts would assist the bureau “in conducting research on all survey and census methodology and processes to improve Census Bureau products and services”.
Work will be split into five areas focusing on assessment, planning and analysis; statistical analysis and evaluation; methodological research; survey engineering; and data analysis and dissemination.
Interested parties can keep up-to-date on the RFP process through the Census Bureau website.
