UAE— The National Media Council (NMC) and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) have appointed Capgemini to manage the first phase of the country’s new TV audience measurement initiative.
Capgemini will carry out the groundwork in preparation for the launch of a TV ratings system in the country, beginning with an eight-week effort to benchmark international best practices, assess the local market through research and stakeholder interviews and identify the best technology for the task.
The NMC and TRA said in January that they were looking for an outside company to oversee the service, and expressed a preference for ‘people meter’-based measurement
Capgemini saw off competition from seven other companies to win the contract, according to the NMC and TRA.
