Bristol’s Trevanian Legg mining social media

UK— Bristol-based Trevanian Legg has launched a social media research service, powered by Alterian’s SM2 monitoring tool, to pick out and analyse mentions and comments about brands online.

The firm was launched in August by director Nigel Legg, who previous ran the firm Katugas Research Services.

Katugas was closed down in May after three years of operations, with Legg citing personal reasons. What began as coding services business eventually expanded into social media monitoring, but in a break from the past, Legg said: “I now no longer offer any of the training or hand-holding services Katugas previously offered to get companies up and running using social media. I wanted to move away from that area and focus totally on the research.”

Trevanian Legg offers social media studies in five main areas: competitive positioning, brand protection, marketing measurement, market research and programme/campaign audits.
