BBC to re-tender its MR roster

News UK

UK — The BBC has announced that it is to re-tender its market research roster.

Research commissioned through the roster will be used to inform strategic policy, commissioning and editorial decisions.

Applying agencies will be able to choose between two lots: lot one focuses on core qual and quant research requirements, while lot two encompasses agencies that provide specialist expertise in areas of particular importance to the BBC.

The acting director of audiences, Margo Swadley said: “We constantly demand a lot of the agencies we work with. We need them to be nimble, innovative and deliver the kind of research and insights that our programme makers need to do the very best job for our audiences.

“Our roster allows us to choose from agencies who we are confident will meet these requirements, as well as ensuring we deliver value for money for licence fee payers.”

Opportunities for suppliers can be viewed here. The deadline for applications is 20th May 2014, and the date for awarding contracts is targeted for December 2014.
