US — Anderson Analytics has been granted a patent for a text analytics process utilised in its OdinText software.
The Natural Language Test Analytics leverages contextual data and provides a process for filtering out the noise, which is common in unstructured data.
“The problem with most approaches of text analytics out there is that they are focused on trying to do what humans do best rather than on what computers do best,” said Anderson Analytics founder Tom Anderson. “They’re also focused on the individual document level, thus completely missing some of the greatest benefits that come from the increase in computing power, consideration of contextual information and statistical techniques.”

This is great Tom. Very valuable. I see patents are featuring much more in the research industry these days which I suspect is indicative of an underlying trend towards technology away from humans.
