Aegis Media’s iProspect buys social media services firm

US— Aegis – while considering a sale of its research arm Synovate – is making acquisitions elsewhere in the group. Its digital performance agency iProspect has bought ICUC, a provider of social media intelligence and moderation services.

ICUC clients include Chevron, Intel and Calvin Klein. It monitors and moderates content within online communities, principally for brand protection purposes.

Aegis Media North America CEO Nigel Morris (pictured), who oversees iProspect, said: “We have a crystal clear view on the way convergence is driving increasingly complex but more effective consumer/brand interactions. Clients are not only looking for guidance in navigating the media environment, they want brilliance in execution to deliver superior brand performance for their marketing investment.

“The acquisition… provides brands with a truly innovative service that can turn social sentiment into consumer action. This acquisition further extends iProspect’s leadership across the digital performance spectrum.”
