What is the biggest challenge you have faced during your career?
One of the biggest challenges was to shift from traditional online survey-based research to understanding clients’ business needs and offering them a range of methodologies and solution-oriented approaches. This learning has given me the confidence to easily support and collaborate with multiple stakeholders, agencies and propose clients multiple solutions to answer their business questions and requirements.
What will be the next big trend or development in the research industry, and why?
At the broader level, I think we will see a shift in research focus from developed to developing markets. Clients have started executing market research projects in developing markets and this is expected to gain much more traction in the coming years. Additionally, I expect two main trends to grow further and continue to gain momentum: automation and blending different research methodologies. Automation will play a key role in cutting out the routine daily tasks, providing us with more time to dig into the insights and provide a greater influence in decision-making for the clients. Blending different research methodologies allows us to create a holistic picture and provide detailed business insights and recommendations.
Who inspires you as a researcher?
It’s been deeply rewarding to work with a company that’s supporting and contributing to the financial services sector and market research industry. I’m fortunate to work within a team that perfectly blends empathy and intelligence – they’re a pleasure to work with. They’re the ones who turn up, every day and stand with me, working together to overcome new challenges. I’ve learned so much from my managers, my team, and my business stakeholders, who always encourage me to be innovative, proactive, and modest.
